Mugabe is no near Saddam

Let us get one thing clear- the execution of Saddam was barbaric.

Saddam was created by the West to do their dirty work in the Middle East . Saddam's regime was formed and groomed by the West, until the time he invaded Kuwait , then Saddam the ruthless dictator emerged. Saddam dined with the West and he finally paid a heavy price for it. When he realised that the West was using him, he changed his tactics, but it was too late. Mugabe was never and will never be a puppet of the West. Mugabe is no near Saddam, Ian smith or P.W Botha( The Crocodile). Kuwait and Saudi Arabia remember are ruled with an iron fist by ruthless undemocratic regimes, supported by the west-They are not called dictators. What is a dictator then? Does it mean, Leaders of the nations that challenge the west are labelled dictators from Fidel Castro, Chavez to Mugabe to name a few. There is a time when Mandela was even labelled terrorists by the west?
Who gave ANC and Mandela the fundamental support during their struggle for freedom . Was it the West or Fidel Castro, Mugabe or Gaddafi? Why in the first place was there a sudden preoccupation with international justice in Zimbabwe when international justice had been flouted throughout the tenure of the previous white regime without the same hysterical outcry? Ian Smith rebelled against the Crown through his UDI- Harold Wilson - the British Prime Minister at the time - refused to send troops to fight against white Rhodesian troops. Ian Smith killed ruthlessly thousands of innocent black civilians- he used his ruthless special branch forces and his licensed killers the Selous and Grey scouts. They were not governed by any laws of combat and could literally do what they liked.

Ian Smith even hired mercenaries from Israel and South Africa- licensed to kill. The Rhodesian regime even resorted to chemical and biological weapons(anthrax)-which was used widely in the rural areas to kill innocent black civilians and their livestock . The plan was to total destroy and wipe out the villages. Many black civilians were displaced-when Ian Smith introduced the so-called protected villages programme-whole families were uprooted overnight and taken to some empty piece of land--whole families sheltering from the rain trees and risking being struck by lightening- little children crying- elders numbered into silence-an uncle or two killed as a warning to anyone who dared think subversive thoughts; that was the order of the day during the last days of Ian Smith's regime. At independence Mugabe preached reconciliation and the special forces disbanded and their leadership evaporated into thin air.

Many ended up in Apartheid South Africa and some went to Australia or other white commonwealth countries. The leader of the Selous Scouts, col. Ron Reid Daly and General Peter Walls (RF)retired to South Africa to enjoy the last few years of apartheid. Why is it right that Ian Smith can sit at home and enjoy his retirement without the danger of facing any crimes against humanity? His troops were responsible for the murder of over 100 000 innocent villagers. Remember at the Lancaster house agreement- all these ruthless white perpetrators were given their thousands of dollars pension paid in foreign currency, in a country of their choice. Despite the evidence presented, there are witnesses willing to testify, no international body has shown any interest in bringing Ian Smith to account. For him-Mugabe and the world asked for reconciliation. White Rhodesians benefited from post independence reconciliation-implemented by Mugabe regime. But now they want Armageddon to descend on Zimbabwe in the hope that in the ensuing chaos they mighty regain power. They are no longer interested in the initial reconciliation that spared them from the gallows.

In South Africa P.W.Botha committed his gruesome murders of thousand of innocent black civilians. South Africa brutally oppressed 40 million black men , women and children-where was the international justice? Nobody called for military invasion of South Africa and international justice stood impotently by. South African regimes used chemical and biological weapons whenever they wanted. PW Botha died peacefully at his country house and S.A Gov of Mbeki even asked his family for permission to give him a state funeral-Which they declined. Why? What a shame! Most of the perpetrators in South Africa are still at large and benefited from the post apartheid reconciliation. If Mandela was in power, was he going to get the same reconciliation as his white perpetrators- who have vanished into thin air around the world? One is bound to ask who reconciled ?. Black men has always reconciled with his white perpetrators from slavery to apartheid times. Whether our perpetrators have reconciled with us-black people or not-that is up to them to answer. In Zimbabwe , Mugabe has done his duty - he preached reconciliation and pardoned all perpetrators since independence. The only thing Mugabe has done wrong now is to challenge and demand land from the white settler? His crime is to empower black people to own and run the economy ? Remember any leader that challenges the West will be an enemy of the West?

That is exactly what Mugabe has done? No doubt there will soon be another television programme on the worlds worst tyrants and this time Mugabe will be included. Excessive exaggeration and downright lies paint a gloomy picture of the situation in Zimbabwe ; this will only feed the cynicism of those who know the score. Those who do not wish to be told the truth but only have one thing in mind - the return of some form of white rule in Zimbabwe and the rest of Africa- are beyond redemption. *Mugabe will have to answer for himself to his own people for whatever crimes the people of Zimbabwe accuse him of having committed. He is answerable to nobody else. The West wants to remove Mugabe from power, nothing else. The liberation struggle, brought democracy to Zimbabwe . There was no democracy in a white Rhodesia ! Black people taught white men democracy, likewise in South Africa. Today, in Zimbabwe there is freedom and democracy. Our democracy may not be what, other people like, but at least it is the only democracy we know and hope in future to improve it. Zimbabwe must cherish its young democracy, because our previous colonial masters, denied black people any form of democracy. How can the West teach us democracy, when they failed to teach us democracy when they were in power for almost 100 years?

Many Zimbabwe the so called middle classes-the so called educated elite are destroying Zimbabwe ? Are they educated into submission? Are they educated to work for the western world? Are they educated to satisfy the western world? Its time for Africa to get the right people and right education for ourselves, to satisfy our destiny. It is time for Zimbabweans to open their eyes and to start doing things our own way. Do what you know best, to your best ability for the benefit of Zimbabwe . These middle classes with their sweet tooth for consumer goods have willingly decided to join hunt for those in Africa who do not conform to the new world order. This breed of opportunistic Africans is in danger to itself and to others who are going to be compromised thru the rediscovered politics.

Zimbabwe forgets its war sacrifices and its war dead at its own Peril?

Reconciliation can never mean forgetting a history as cruel and recent as that of the liberation struggle. Nor should it mean surrender at the point of victory. The African has tasted freedom and nothing less will do from now on.

The freedom genie is out of the bottle.

Its time to wake up! Get up and stand up!
